Welcome to my QRZ.COM callsign listing. Time sure flies by when you're busy with projects and having fun, and last July marked one fast moving year since I received my tech ticket. During the past year +, I've been making progress toward getting rigs set up and learning how to operate them properly. I'm grateful for several "Elmers" who've stepped forward to answer many questions and offer a lot of helpful assistance; especially Allyn - N0ZKG for guiding me toward amateur radio nearly five years ago, and Rex - W7WIN, Steve - KB7ITU and Larry - KC7BSE for helping keep my fire of interest and activity ablaze. Helpful also are members of and informative meetings at our local amateur radio club - Eagle Rock Amateur Radio Club in Idaho Falls, ID (http://www.erarc.org). While participating in seven local area weekly nets, I'm enjoying an opportunity to be NCS for two of those nets once a month: RACES - 146.940 and GMRS - 462.550. With new opportunities for service, as club president, in our local amateur radio club, Eagle Rock Amateur Radio Club - ERARC, I'll soon be assisting as NCS on our weekly net too: 146.640. These opportunities for net participation and service sure help me in continuing to learn and grow as an amateur radio operator; helping me to not only be good at this we enjoy and do...but also good for something. Sitting atop my shoulders is my youngest daughter, Emma, and some day she'll hopefully be a "ham" with daddy. I took my tech test the evening before she was born. While my wife was in hospital getting ready to deliver, with my sister at her side, I slipped out quickly to take the previously scheduled and diligently studied for test. I finished testing in about five minutes, scored 100%, and hurried back to hospital for delivery. We gratefully welcomed Emma into mortality the following morning. Through my activity in amateur radio, my oldest daughter, Undrea, has shown interest in amateur radio and is now preparing to take her tech test. I also look forward to her becoming a "ham" with daddy and participating in this facinating activitiy too. Like Emma, I fondly remember Undrea riding atop my shoulders as we were out and about on daddy-daughter journeys...27 years ago. Thank you for your time in reading my QRZ.com listing and hopefully we'll have opportunity to speak with each other... 73, Terance Last modified: Thu Nov 19 05:55:17 2009 Does this page contain inappropriate content?
