Born in Omaha, Nebraska,I lived my youth in Culver City, CA until 1971 when I moved to the Pacific Northwest after college graduation. I was first licensed in 1958 as WV6AJE, and got my General Class ticket in 1960. At first, most of my equipment was converted military surplus electronics. Always interested in all things technical, I obtained a bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering in 1971.
I worked for numerous aerospace electronics firms in the Los Angeles area, and then transfered to Vancouver, WA in 1971 with TRW on a contract to develop a computerized power management system for BPA. I moved to Edmonds, WA in late1974 to work for Honeywell Marine Systems in sonar engineering. I finished the last 4 years of my engineering career with Physio Control (medical electronics)in 1997. In retirement, this hobby is a big part of my life, and I have finally assembled a first class station. I received my Extra Class license in 2000, achieved DXCC Honor Roll in 2001, and No. 1 Honor Roll in 2010. CW is my preferred mode of operation. This is a great hobby that helped steer my life down a path of happiness and success.
