Also operated as K1Y/7 from Las Vegas. It was the first year of an ongoing special event station celebrating the first anniversary of the SKCC (Straight Key Century Club). I hold SKCC #410. I could have had one of the very first numbers, but i procrastinated the day Tom announced the formation of the club to the group, when i finally sent him an email, there were over 400 others ahead of me. :)
I am active on HF/VHF - CW, 80-6. SSB is very rare but if i hear something good, im there. DXing is my primary interest and i work the major contests for that reason. I run QRP up to 100 watts to a dipole with nearly 260 DXCC confirmed (i dont care about the award, just the contacts), and i use only antique keys and bugs. So if you log me, Thank you!!
I worked for nearly 30 years as a professional bassist on the Las Vegas Strip. I have had the pleasure of sharing the stage and studio with many amazing musicians over the years. I have now moved with my wife, Devie, to the beautiful coastal town of Belfast, Maine. QTH is the little blue house on top of the grassy hill.
