The Podunk Hollow Contest Club was formed by Bill Parker, W8QZA/6 of San Diego CA and Phil Krichbaum, N0KE now near Silt in Western Colorado. We acquired the vanity call NA0CW in 2008 for use in contests where a prefix is the multiplier and for other operations as well that might be suitable. NA0CW has been used so far from both Colorado and California, CA for the 2008 WPX SSB, Colorado for 2008, 2009, and 2010 WPX CW, 2009 and 2010 WPX SSB and 2009 Manchester Minervia contests. It was used in the 2009 and 2010 WPX RTTY contest as a HP MS entry from the W0LSD rental cabin near Buena Vista, Colorado in Chaffee County. W0LSD, K0CL and N0KE were the operators. W8QZA will be operating the 2009 CQWW WPX SSB as a SOAB QRP from N0KE's QTH near Silt, CO in Garfield County, Colorado.
N0KE and W8QZA have been friends since 1954 in Akron Ohio where we got licensed at about the same time at age 14 and were members of the Teenage Amateur Radio Club. Phil was W8TTN and became W0KEA upon moving to Colorado in 1965 and later N0KE in 1997. Bill frequently contests under the call W6QU. We have both operated together and separately from KH6SQ, TI5N and J3 among others.

PY2KW, Nelson Pala was a phys. ed. teacher at Avare' C.E.E.N.Cel. Joao Cruz High School. He eventually became the principal and was admired by parents and students. He taught me and other students the first steps of marching band, volleyball and in the art of Ham Radio.
