I wanted to be a ham since I was a kid. When I joined the Navy in 1975, my interest in communications guided my choice of occupational fields. I was first licensed in 1980 as KA5JXU while serving as a Morse code operator in Iceland. My Division Chief, Senior Chief Messervy, was my first Elmer. After I left the Navy the first time for college (Texas Tech University), I also left ham radio for many years. After college, I returned to the Navy and got a commission. I retired from the Navy in 1999 after 21 years. I am a security engineer these days. I am back into amateur radio full force. I was K5TTU until September 2003, when I became NA5VY. I'm a member of the Fleet Radio Unit Pacific ( http://www.frupac.net ) I'm member number 650 of the Navy Amateur Radio Club ( http://arcnavy.250free.com ) I'm OM number 5128 in OMISS ( http://www.omiss.net ) I'm also a member of the Rockwall Amateur Radio Club ( http://www.rockwall-arc.org ) I enjoy contesting and tinkering with all modes, and I like working public service nets. I'm antenna restricted, so that adds some challenges, but I still get to have a lot of fun. You can do a lot with a G5RV in your attic. QSL direct, via eQSL, via LOTW, or any other way. I always reply. My web site is http://na5vy.com 73! Last modified: 2011-01-22 01:17:48, 1376 bytes cached
