I was originally licensed as a 13-year old Novice in 1969 as WN2KPB. I scraped together my pennies, bought and built Heathkit’s DX-60B transmitter and HR-10 receiver, had our TV repairman help me tune ‘em up, and my Dad and I put up an inverted V antenna at the house. But then life got in the way, my license expired without the important upgrade to Technician, and the gear was eventually sold. I have finally gotten my priorities straight, passed the Technician and General tests in 2008 and the Amateur Extra test in 2009, changed my call sign (from KE5VRR), bought a new Ten-Tec Jupiter, and have been having SSB and PSK31 fun on 20, 40, and 75 meters with that good ol’ inverted V. From here on, the sky’s the limit! Last modified: 2011-01-22 00:22:21, 814 bytes cached
