  • Hello ! Matthew Kent NG2Q,

    QTH, Tucson, AZ.

My passion in Amateur Radio is chasing DX, and this has not changed since I got into amateur radio!  I got my LOtW DXCC award from the ARRL in April 2014 and my WAS Aug 2014! I am now working on filling in all the gaps on 10 to 40meters. I am also a contestor and belong to the Arizona Outlaws Contest Club (AOCC)!

I try to learn something everyday about radio and if not learn, at least play radio.  I am now the Vice President of the Radio Society of Tucson. Please visit

www.k7rst.org for more information.

I have been interested in and playing with radios and electronics my whole life. I was taking stuff and building things before I was able to ride a bike, or even really able to understand thetheory behind what I was doing. Well, that was 30+ years ago and now that I am in my early 40's, and talking to other people, well it just ignites that fire, like it does for so many. I got away for some time from electronics and radios, but now I am back!

Me doing portable operations in the desert of Arizona. The below picture is my full size G5RV. I built a drive over antenna base for it. It works pretty good! The wires coming out form the top of the antenna, are the support guys. Only 2 of the wires are the actuall antenna.
