I have been a ham since my senior year in college in 1990. I was very active in DXing, contesting and activating islands in the 1990's (as N1HRW) while I was in grad school in Illinois. In 1996, I reached extra class and got the NK1K call in 1999. Soon after that however, I received my doctorate in biochemistry and moved back to Massachusetts with my wife to start our careers in biotech research. I was QRT from the bands and stayed that way for almost 10 years while we started our careers, built a house and had children. In 2012, my new shack was completed and I am now once again QRV 6-160m. I am into HF DXing in CW, SSB and RTTY and am working on the DXCC Challenge. I also love amateur satellites and 6m, and hope to try 6m or 2m EME sometime soon. On Sep 26, 2012 I made contact with 3D2C on Conway Reef to achieve the DXCC Honor Roll, finally! My log is electronic and all contacts I have made from my main station are on LoTW (back to my first QSO in 1990). Usually, contacts that I make are on LoTW within a few hours of making them. In addition to LoTW, I am happy to QSL direct. I do not like eQSL and do not use the bureau. See you on the bands. 73 Chris, NK1K
