Retired from the National Radio Astronomy Observatory's Very Large Array Site; the place with all the "Satellite dishes" in the sci-fi movie "Contact" starring Jodie Foster.

In 2005 I got back into Ham Radio after being QRT for 35 years ;was 1st licensed back in 1956 as Novice class WV6OML, passed General tests in 1957 & granted callsign WA6OML.

Got relicensed in 2005 as General class with callsign of KE5EFC; was granted my vanity callsign as of 12 APR 05, so WA6OML was back on the air.

Upgraded to Extra Class in August of '05.

Using vintage tube-gear Hallicrafters HT-37Tx/SX-110Rx combo for 80-10 Meter AM/CW; and equally vintage Heathkit HW-101 RTx on 80-10 Meters SSB; recently acquired a Kenwood TS-820s from e-bay & already love it, even tho it's really a hy-brid & not a true boat-anchor

QTH antennas are 1/2 wave inverted Vee's on 80M, 40M(15M), 20M, and a 5/8 wave Vertical for 10M.

Using a UNIDEN( Radio Shack) HTX-10 for 25 Watt AM/FM/SSB 10M Mobile into Mag Mount Antenna--worked all over the World with it mobile.

Decided to change callsign to reflect living in New Mexico for last 33 years, and my initials in AUG of 2008.
