QSL image for NT6X

I was first licensed in the mid 80's as KA6SAR which I held until I finally upgraded to Extra. I have been NT6X since 2006.

I have been an athlete all my life and the competitive part of Ham Radio was very attractive to me. I AM a Contester and contesting is what I do! I also enjoy DXing and checking into the local NTS CW traffic nets when I get achance.

I am forever indebted to those who took me under their wing and taught me to be the best operator I could be, as well as those who gave me the opportunity to compete from some of the finest stations in the country. Off the top of my head: N5OT,NQ4I,K7NV,K6UA,N6ND,W6EEN,N6AN,W6DR,N6TR (who yelled at me on the air when I was a teenager during the Ph Sprint because I called him with mylast two letters. That was a lesson I never forgot - Thanks Tree). I am amember of the Caltech Radio Club and do most of my operating from the club station W6UE.

I am a Professional Baseball Scout by profession. Since 1996 I have been theWest Coast Scouting Supervisor for the Atlanta Braves. I resigned from theBraves in Oct of 2007 to accept a promition with the Chicago White Sox. I amstill supervising the west coast, but I now have added responsibility at theMajor League personnel level as well as the chance to travel the world. My career keeps me very busy all year which limits my operating time. However, beating the bushes looking for talent to build a championship team and the opportunity to make young ballplayers dreams come true is very rewarding.
