~~I had a previous call of NØOJL~~

I grew up in but moved just outside of Glenville, Minnesota. Glenville has a population of about 850 people and is located in Freeborn County MN. near the Iowa boarder. (EN-33)

I'm a retired Fire Chief and 1st Responder having served 19 years on the department prior to moving to the country.

I became a Licensed Novice back in April of 91, then moved right up to a Technician the following month. After a few years went by I decided to check out this stuff they called HF. I got my General July of 07 "and got hooked" and wanted more! I then took the last step and moved up to an Extra October 8th, 2009.

I am also an accredited American Radio Relay League VE.

The photo is a picture of me on a trip that I took with one of my sons to San Antonio, TX. I was waiting to get inside of the Alamodome.

I have three boys and at this time have talked two of them in to getting their license Joshua (KD0IJX) has his General and Jacob (KD0WOA) has his Technician license. My wife (N0YIE, also good in QRZ) also holds a Technician license. I currently have three Grandchildren!

My new interest is CW. Using a J-38 (straight key) and a Bencher BY-1(lambic paddle)

I'm an I-Gate for APRS. I've been having a lot of fun with that. Look me up on http://aprs.fi/ some time (NXØP-9) we're really finding the importance of running APRS during storm watch.

I really enjoy the band openings both on 146.520 and 10m. I am also a 10-10 Member (#75077) and also a member of the Omiss (#6001).

In the shack I’m running a Kenwood TS-2000 and an Icom- IC-756PRO. I have two towers on site. Tower one has a Diamond X500 on top of it for 2m anf 70cm, below that is a 11 element Cushcraft (A14-11) 2m horizontal, J-Pole, 4 element 220MHz Cushcraft and a Buckmaster Antenna (OCF). Tower two has two Cushcraft A14-11 beams on top. One horizontal and the other verticle. Below them is a 4 element Mosley TA-34M. Below the beam I have a Diamond DPGH62 for 6m and two wires. One being a W8AMZ 160m Reduced 1/2 Sloper and the Alpha Delta DX-CC.

I look forward to talking to any and all amateurs on HF and those that are just passing through using local repeaters. I usually listening in on 146.52 simplex.

I also run a personal repeater on 146.685/146.085 - 446.600/441.600. Feel free to use it if you're in the area!
