Thanks for stopping by the site! As NY3B I live in Orefield, PA., a small village near Allentown (1 hour from Philadelphia and 90 minutes from NYC by car). I was first licensed at the age of 16 as WB3GTT and in my 30+ years of Amateur Radio I have met a lot of interesting people from all over the world! I almost exclusively use CW, and mainly enjoy chasing DX and building equipment. In the past I have also been involved with contesting, but being the father of three very active boys I no longer have the time to dedicate to contesting.
In 2000 I received the American Radio Relay League (ARRL) Technical Service Award- which was a real honor. I also serve as a consultant to the ARRL on issues pertaining to EMC and am also a Volunteer Examiner, and enjoy teaching radio classes and giving exams to new hams.
Yo hablo espaol y me gusta practicarlo bastante! Viv en Barranquilla, Colombia cuando era jovan y aprendί la lengua por aca!
In my professional life I work in the semiconductor field and have 25+ years experience in the design & development of integrated circuits in Cellular, Storage, Power Management, Networking and Telecommunications systems. My job takes me to Europe and Asia frequently and I very much enjoy meeting people from all over the world and learning new cultures. On one such trip I even had the opportunity to operate 4U1ITU in Geneva as a guest OP, which was really exciting!
For now: VY 73 ES GOOD DX de NY3B Steve
