Hi, and thank's for visiting my QRZ page. All my friends call me Cat.
I got my first license in 1999 at the prodding of my husband who was then a Techician at the time. I was currently in my last semester of college with finals coming up and I protested. One day we walked into HRO Anaheim because he needed some things and they had a raffle going. So I put my name in. Wouldn't you know it? I won a brand new ADI handheld radio and no license to use it with. So, since I was in study mode anyway, I decided to go for it and GOT IT! I was so excited! Now I could use my new radio! In 2011 I decided to go for the General since they took the CW requirements off and aced that one! My hubby was still a Tech but decided to study for his (about a year later) and got his General. Nearly a year after that, he went off and got his Extra before me, and now I have passed my Extra exam with flying colors! Next up....a nice new (easy) vanity callsign like he now has, and operating on those "special" frequencies that he has so much fun on! We're a little competetive, as you can see. I appreciate his input because he is very active on the radio and he is very helpful. I am a little shy talking with people in person and have found that I am even more so on the radio! Go figure! You would think it would be easier than in person. But I am getting out there a little bit at a time.
I upload to LOTW. I love to exchange QSL cards by mail and will respond to yours!. Please include SASE. So if you hear me on the radio drop me a card if we talk. I'd love to hear from you! 73!
NOTE: Know that I have Multiple Sclerosis (MS) and it affects my speach sometimes. If I souund intoxicated somtimes...know that I am not!!! it's the MS affecting my speach. Thanks for your understading and patience.
