The City of Lier (33.000 inhabitants) is a small beautiful town in Flanders, the Dutch speaking region of Belgium, about 125 km from the North Sea, near Antwerp. It was home to the Flemish novelists: Anton Bergmann (1835-1874), Felix Timmermans (1886-1947), and the clock maker Louis Zimmer (1880-1970).
On the outskirts of Lier there is an old derelict 19th century fortress (see the picture above).
Here one can find the Clubstation of 'De Lierse Radioamateurs' with Callsign ON7LR and their conteststation OT5A.
