P49X is my "Permanent Visitor" license in Aruba since 2006. Prior to that I had a "Temporary Visitor" license with callsign P40X. My home callsign is W0YK. I do most of the major RTTY contests from this QTH: ARRL RTTY Round-Up, CQ WPX RTTY and CQ WW RTTY. The property is owned by John Fore, P40L/W6LD, and Andy Faber, P49Y/AE6Y, and is described in more detail at www.arubaqth.com. John and Andy do most of the major CW and SSB contests as Single-Ops and sometimes as a Multi-Op. The station is primarily used for contesting but occasionally for general DXing.

My first visit was in November 2003 with partner Mary Lindsay, but no contesting was done on that trip and very little CW operating. I came back for the 2005 ARRL RTTY Round-Up, placing last in Aruba behind Jacky, P43P. Hooked, I have returned every January since then. In 2007,I began also doing the CQ WPX RTTY Contest from here. In 2008, I started doing the CQ WW RTTY Contest. In 2009, W6OTC and K6AW joined me for a Multi-Two and in 2010 I went back for a Single-Op. Then we did Multi-Two again in 2011 (with W6OTC, K6AW, N4RR) and 2012/2013 (with W6OTC).  In 2014, I did another Single-Op All Band operation.

I've done Multi-Single in ARRL DX CW with W6LD using John's Aruban callsign, P40L, in 2010, 2011, 2013 and 2014. I've also done CQ WW CW and CQ WPX CW Multi-Twp with John and others from the NCCC (Northern California Contest Club): KX7M, N6XI, N7MH, AE6Y/P49Y.

All logs are on LotW and I QSL promptly to all direct requests (with SASE or SAE with $2), either to the Aruba address above or my home QTH:

Thanks to everyone for your QSOs! And, I especailly appreciate your efforts to move between bands with me for more QSOs and multipliers (depending on tthe contests).  Hope to work you many more times in future contests.

Ed - P49X/W0YK
