Hope you enjoy my QRZ page!

Hello all,

My name is Bertina and I live in the north of the Netherlands in a small village called Noordwolde, approximately 100 kilometres north east of the capital Amsterdam.
After 15 years as a print professional I now work at a large company which fills spray cans (mainly paint, oils and grease).

I didn’t knew the existence of ham radio until I met my boyfriend (PA2WRD) in 1989, he had a CB radio and that’s how I got in to the world of radio waves.
I obtained my novice license in February 2010, and my Full license in February 2011. My previous call sign was PD2BTA. I'm most active on HF (in phone and BPSK) and occasionally on 2 meters. I especially like the non common QSO’s, for instance Special Event Stations and contests.
I take part in the
Dutch PACC Contest with the club call of the FRAG; PI4FRG.
I’m an active member of VERON (section A63 Friese Wouden) and FRAG (Frisian Radio Amateur Group). I’m also a member of Digital Modus Club (DMC #3028)

In 2012 the FRAG celebrated her 35th anniversary. All members were able to get a Special Event Call in December that year. My SES was PF35BTA. I made 501 QSO’s with that call sign and printed a special QSL card for this occasion.

I am, what they call a plug and play amateur, I don’t build my own equipment except for wire antennas and my (one and only) interface “in a Mini”.

Besides the radio hobby I love the Classic Mini. I own several Saloons, a Pick-Up (RHD), a Van and a Clubman Estate. And as you can see, they need a lot of TLC. I’m a member of the dutch Mini club; Mini Seven Club.

Besides the Mini's I also like to ride my motorcycle, a Kawasaki ZXR 400

Here some pictures of my pets, which I love very much:

Shady, half Persian. She was18 years old. Last two years she was blind and deaf. My old lady.

Boris, mixture of Rottweiler and Boxer. Became a Tripawd due bone cancer. It's better hop on three legs then to limb on four. He's my all time hero! He was 10 years old.

Rocky the Boxer, a real comedian. His life is about; play, eat, play, play, nap, play, play, eat, play play. Oh.. did I mention he likes to play?!

Loes, half Maine Coon. Likes mice, birds and the holy Hedera hague (where the birds live!!) Has a will of her own, but she is still very young.

Thank you for visiting my QRZ page, I hope you liked it. You are free to follow me on twitter @Bertina3 (most tweets are in Dutch)

73's and hope to work you (again) someday!
