My Dx Station

Currently my main station is a FT1000MP MarkV and an Alpha 91B amplifier. I use an IC-756 PROIII on 6Meters and on digital modes. On six I have, but rarely use, a converted SB200 amplifier which delivers about 700W

My QRP Station

I use a Chinese transceiver - HB-1A - on 20/30/40m. Power output is 4W. It has a very comfortable reception. CW filters up to 400Hz. Internal CW keyer and CQ memory. I enjoy casual QRP qsos or QRP entry in local contests.

My Antennas

I live in a crowed town and have space limitations. Antenna system is always a big compromise and requires criativity. Here is how I get by :

Main tower - 6m : 7ele M2 yagi 10,12,15,17 and 20m: 3ele SteppIR 40m: 2ele 40-2CD 30m: 4SQ diamond style 80m: folded dipole 160m: quarter wave sloper

Roof tower #1 : one wavelength spaced 7 over 7 ele 6m yagis. In the middle of the 6meters beams I have built a single loop RX Flag antenna for 160/80/30m. Check details here

I have done an upgrade to the RX Flag antenna. Check here

Roof tower #2 : Currently no antenna on it

My Boatanchor station and equipment

I collect boatachors. I repair and restore old receivers, transmitters and transceivers. Some items of my collections : Drake 1A, 2A, 2B and 2C; Collins S Line, KWM2, R-388; Hallicrafters S-34C, -S129, HT-46, SR-150; Johnson Viking Ranger, Heathkit DX-60A.

Check some of my boatachors (click on photos or text below images for photo album):

PY2KW, Nelson Pala was a phys. ed. teacher at Avare' C.E.E.N.Cel. Joao Cruz High School. He eventually became the principal and was admired by parents and students. He taught me and other students the first steps of marching band, volleyball and in the art of Ham Radio.
