From August 15 to November 15, 2013 a special memorial R100RQA radio station
will be working on HF bands in Arkhangelsk region in honor of the centenary
of the opening and first air of professional radio in the Russian North - RQA.
The team of that radio station took an active part in the radio communication
support of polar expeditions during the exploration of the Northern territories,
in particular in the search operation of three renowned Russian captains:
Georgy Sedov, Georgy Brusilov, Vladimir Rusanov in 1914, whose fate is still
unclear, and then, in hot pursuit, attempts were made to find and rescue the
Russian polar explorers.

On the 15th of September, 2013 on the historic location of the radio station RQA,
Damba - Isakogorka district of the city of Arkhangelsk, will be held celebrations,
anniversary events organized by the Arkhangelsk regional TV and radio Centre.
Call sign R100RQA will sound again from its historical QTH, in memory of the first
radio station team, in memory of the great explorers of the Arctic. Arkhangelsk hams
will have this honor.

Award of the Centennial anniversary of RQA – “100 years RQA

Award “Centennial Anniversary of RQA” being issued in electronic form only,
to commemorate 100th anniversary of the first broadcast of the commercial radio
station “RQA”. Located on the Russian north, Arkhangelsk region.

“100 years RQA” award presented to any amateur radio station established 2-way
contacts with Archangel Region ARS between 01.01.13 and 15.11.13 and accumulated
100 or more points according to the chart:

• Mandatory contact with R100RQA - 20points;
• Any contact with 1O – Arkhangelsk region ARS yield – 10 points;
• Any all contacts established on September 15th and September 18th
will be counted as double to distinguish special activity days dedicated
to the celebration of the event.

Same station can be worked once per band, per mode. (CW, SSB, DIGI)

First ten winners of the award will receive special prizes.

Transcript of your log will be sufficient for submission and should
be mailed to: ua1ojl@mail.ru

Deadline for submissions and award mailings after 15.11.2013.

Results will be published on 30.11.2013.
