The upper right photo shows our family, how we look's like at present day.

This page is always under construction. I am working on new look of QRZ.COM now (Dec 11th, 2013)

Soon, there will be more photos.

Hello, my name is Aleksander and I live in small green country named Slovenia. I have two doughters - Zala (18 years old) and Eva (12 years old). My beloved wife's name is Boza. We have a cat, too named FRFA.But first, let's look across my antennas. There's where those signals comes from:

First, my trusty 4 el. (12 years old) 28 MHz Yagi. It is all home made and I am truly happy with it. I just wish to have two of them in the stack configuration one day. Next photoshows108 meters long EDZ (Extended Dubble Zepp antenna (2x 54m long) which is about (only) 25m up. It is made for 80m-band but can be tuned up to all bands, thank's to 300 Ohm ladder line. It's great performer on 3.5 MHz to EU and DX but has quite sharp pattern to N/W direction which means that I can work most of N/W Europe and USA/VE with ease. I first worked North America also via Long Path. My EDZ is too close to the ground, but even so, it's great performer and it's realy working very very well. You won't be dissappointed if you will built one of that. For real DX on 80m, some kind of vertical probably would be better. But you need good ground for verticals. I live on the top of the hill so no good ground can be found here. On the ''Magic'' band I use 5 el. YU7EF design Yagi. You can ''Google'' for YU7EF antennas yoursef if you looking for good performing antennas. Justin, G0KSC has also a lot of designs, but I have to try his one day. DK7ZB is another guy. So if you have a little skill, don't hesistate and try to build something yourself. Nothing can buy satisfaction when your antenna start to collect DX.

After few years of ''trubble-free'' with my EDZ80m antennaI had lightning visitor on the hill at 28th August 2013. You can see brute force of mother nature! ED Zeppelin is currently out of order, but I am working on it just now.

In 2011 I finaly started to buil my first 5-band antenna. I have some fibre-glass poles (4,5m long) and use them for Spider arms.

And here it is.Home-made SpiderBeam in all here beauty. (On tuning pole) (DEC 2012)

And this is my small bottle of Power to help me contact those DX-es. I can squeeze 700 Watts out of it. For DX work 700-800 Watts is all what you realy need! With one (1) German (Siemens) tube RS-1002 (QB4-1100/4-400)(TETRODE)I am not '' the one call only and I've got it guy'', but I get throu almost always after few calls. Isn't that old fat lady (TETRODE) shines sexy? And the amp is all HOME-MADE. One more and another part of the hobby still offering some ground for experimentation. I am not that profesion, but with help of some good friends, still around out there, and lots of changes inits gutsthis amp is back in buisseness. Many thanks Frane, S59AA, one of the most ''AMP''-knowledging guy I ever meet for helps me making this box alive again. Many thanks alsoto Josko, S57CV, previous owner to sold me this AMP in unworkable and burning-out stage for marginal price. There are still good guys in this hobby. Now, when BAND conditions are back and we all enjoy strong signals I am gettingnice audio reports from many callers. I think the glass tube-AMP is one of the best solution for outstandingaudio if you like to hear such coments from people you talk to.

But live a Hamradio briefly. Here's few photos of my family, mostly on some nice spots of our beautiful Slovenia. The one with my ladies isat Croatian Istria, on hot August day this year (2013). The Slovenian beer belongs toother(contesters)side.

Now the shocking part.

In September 2007 the doctors found nasty tumor on my right kidney. It shows out it was Cancer (Hipernefrom). Thank's god it was still small enougt they can cut it off so I can keep my right kidney and get rid of Cancer that way. I truly hope so. No chemotherapy was needed in my case. Six years latter my both kidneys still functioned excellent and new tumors or metastasis can't be found. I realy hope this will be so also in next upcoming years. What you can see on my presented pictures are what you will need THE MOST when something like that happened. Yes, it's called FAMILY!

Don't forget that. The reason I am teling you about my disease is I want to tell you this:

Sometimes finding Cancer inside you, not necessarily means THE END. When you realy trust that you can fight, miracles can appear and if you are luck enough to having loving family on side ( which you don't want to left behind), you CAN fight against this heavy ''Predator'' called Cancer.

I win this contest! Mostly because in my case it was fast enough and there was no metastasis yet. But also because we have skilled and highly profesinal doctors. And because I was never give up. Thinking about my family 24/7 helps me not to become completely apathetic or even mad.

When I was finaly recover from surgery (and shock) (It takes about whole year) HAM radio comes back to the scene and helped me MUCH not to think about Cancer and death anymore. Particularly when I was home alone. I just turn on the Kenwood TS-850 and forget to what happened to me just ''over the night''. That dark rainy day back in September 2007 they informed me about THE FACT: ''You have a Cancer''.

I am OK now. Happy that I am still here and new antennas+ contestnig plans found their way back to my mind again.

I started new page in the book of life. That's inclouding more time spentoutside. Onfresh air.

Today, 6 years after sickness, I feel much stronger than ever before. Mostly, my energy comes from mountain-bycicles riding all around country.

We equiped family with mountain bycicles and somehow all members of our family agree to tried new sport out. Here's me on next hill from my house. It takes about 1 hour sweating to that spot.

Slovenia is small green Diamondof Europe. We still have cristal clear lakes and a lot of forests, all kind of animals, tries, birds and butterflies. Thisfour photos was taken on Wednesday, July 14th 2010. We spent day at the lake Bohinj, one of the cleaniest lakes in Europe. You can easly see the translucenceof lake's watter. If you ever come to visit Slovenia, our two largest lakes Bohinj and Bledis ''The must''!

This is how our yellow house on the top of the hill. The house is at 635m A.S.L., 20km (15miles) from Ljubljana, the capital city of Slovenia.I haven't have yet large tower but that's not mean I can't work DX. Sometimes we're blessed by a lot of snow, as you can see lower.

And the cat? Eva and Zala, my daughters asked for the cat for centuries. Now we got one. Look at her! Don't you dare not to send me QSL!

Sometimes she's ''BAD girl'', that's what's happening then:

And for last,

I am also QSL manger for 9J3A. QSL for this DXpeditions are available Direct or via Buro plus I tried to do my best to upload it to the LoTW too. If you can't find your call on LoTWbase, and you are sure you worked 9J3A, drop me E-mail to see what's going on. Andlook on QRZ.COM under 9J3A for more news. If you want oneQSL card, sent have to send yours first. (You can ask for BURO card also via E-mail) If you don't get your card back, let's say in one month (for direct) or so, send me an E-mail. Buro is slow! I will answer to your cards after and when they arrive. Because of huge amount of NO-Members around the globe, I take decision to send 9J3A QSL BURO cards out only on request. This is the most and only economicly way. Were times when all has to be member of national Leagues gone? Those days are gone, my frind. I tough they never end

I am out of first of two QSL Cardas, kindly sponsored by WFF. So you will get the QSL card showed here as the nr. 3.

73, and see you on the bands. I hope you like this little presentation of myselve, my family and my beautiful country Slovenia. The small treasure of Europe.
