I started on 27MHz in 1983 but was soon convinced to be a ham by SM4EFE, Henrik. So in the fall 1984 I took the T (Technician) licence and almost from the beginning I found VHF/UHF dxing very interesting. I soon found out that I needed cw to be able to work the very weak signals on the bands, so I upgraded the licence to A (now CEPT 1).

In the early years I worked dx on 2m, 70cm and was doing some satellite working. Then I focused on 2m dx using all possible propagation's, Tr, Au, Ms and Eme, mostly with 4x9el Vårgårda antennas and 1kW from a Henry PA. Until Sept 1994 I had 347 grids, 24 fields and 42 countries on 2m.

From some time 1988 I tried to get a permit for 6m, It took to 1994 to get one. From that time I spent all time on 6m which I think is a fantastic band. I started with a TS-690, later I bought an IC-706, using a 6el yagi. When I moved from my QTH in Nås, JP70fk and took down my antennas I have worked 231 grids, 22 fields and 61 countries on 6m (June 1996).

From 1997 until now (2002) I have been QRT, due to different circumstances. But now my interest in hamradio is rising again, though I don't have that great QTH where I can put up big arrays any more. I recently bought me a FT-817 and hope to be active as portable both on HF, VHF and UHF. It happens that I make a QSO or two on HF also from time to time :-) My favourite bands on HF are 18 and 28 MHz. I also have some plans to try to be active on 23cm as portable in the future. And one day I might get a QTH where I can be a big gun on VHF again :-)

[2006-01-25] Recently moved up to Dalarna again, changed my FT-817 to a FT-857 but still not much activity.
