My name is Michalis and I am living in Artemis, a village by the sea, 30Km NE of Athens, capital of Greece.

My very first approaching to the world of radio communications were back to 1978 using a CB transmitter for some years.

I have been started as radio amateur at the bands of VHF and UHF in 2012. I like to build my own antennas and I think that any radio station is as good as its antennas are. I am a QRP fun and I try to use the less power needed.

Apart from VHF and UHF bands, I am also active in HF bands 7 to 28MHz.

My transceivers are:

Kenwood TH-G71 portable VHF-UHF

Kenwood TH-F7 portable VHF-UHF

Kenwood TM-V71 mobile VHF-UHF

Ranger RCI 2950dx Dual Band 24-28 MHz, 10 Watts at AM, FM and 25 Watts at SSB

Kenwood TS-50, a loan from my friend SV1ELI

My current antennas are:

X-700 Diamond VHF-UHF

Sigma Skip Master (Vertical 5/8 wave for 10m)

G5RV (the short version) a loan from my friend SV1EIW

Veltronics Antenna tuner

My other (earlier than ham radio) hobby, has to do with photography.

You are welcome to my blog, www.chobesplace.gr where you can see photographs but not only ! You can also refresh your Greek language ! :)

As a member of SX3TM team, I participated in the Aegean VHF Contest 2013 which took place at 6 and 7 of July.

The very well organized team moved to Taygetos mountain in the place Agios Panteleimon (grid locator KM17dd).

The experience was great and the cooperation among the members of the team, outstanding.

I hope that in about a month we will know the results of the contest so, I will renew my QRZ page.

Below, I present you some photos from our activity
