The following Greek hams: SV1JG Cliff, SV1RC Spiros, SV1RP George, SV1EEX Nikiforos, SV1GRM Theodoros, SW1GZL Lykoyrgos, SV1HER Sotirios & SV1JCZ Daniel actived the complex of three (3)uninhabitant islets called ASTAKIDA at Karpathion Sea (IOTA: EU-001) with lighthouse activation of the islets (WLOTA: L-0393). All the above hams are also members of the Radio Amateur Association of Greece (http://www.raag.org).

It will be the first time that the islets are going to be activated for ham purposes and so does the lighthouse.

The complex is located 20 NM on the western side of Karpathos Isl. and on the Northern side of Kasos Isl.

Coordinates: Latitude: 35°53'08"N, or 35.8856 N Longitude: 26°49'15"E, or 26.8208 E

Grid square: KM35jv.

Timeline 17 - 23 July 2007.

We was active in all bands from 160m-2m in all modes.
