March 2015

Finally ordered the Flex 6300. 20 mins after I ordered it, the release of 1.4 came out, so I was glad that I got my order in and I think Flex was ready, because it shipped the next day.  Got it and it came with 1.4 Firmware.  I was alittle worried at first, but I tried it and I love it.  I am going to sell my (2) FT-897s, and Probably my FT-1000D that I havent even used yet because I want to upgrade to the 6700 in the next year and with a price like that I have to save alittle while for it.

I also put the Mosley Mini 22 AW on order.  That takes 3 weeks to fabricate.

And finally I ordered the SteppIR Small IR verticle to see how it performs here.   8 days later, I got the first of 2 boxes with teh EHU and I got that all put together.  Waiting the box with the Fiberglass poles so I can assemble those and get it on the air.

I guess the last two pieces to make this station complete would be a nice amplifier and tuner to support that.  I would really like to have a ACOM 1010 because of the size and weight it would be easier to get here, and I dont need full legal limit here, just something to get me over some of the EU stations so I can get through to the states to get in their log books.  Then the tuner I want is a MFJ 998 Autotuner.  Alot of people want to talk negative about MFJ, but I have bought alot of their stuff new and used and have never had a problem, so I will continue to use it.

So those are the last two things on my wishlist. (For now)

1.  ACOM 1010

2. MFJ-998 Tuner.

Take care...
