VA3LX is on Wolfe Island in Ontario Canada, the largest of the Thousand Islands that dot the first 50 miles of the Saint Lawrence River where it forms at the east end of Lake Ontario.
I was first licenced in 1965 as WN1DPU and then WA1DPU. I came to Canada in 1968 and Alberta in 1985 and operated as VE6CSZ briefly and VE6PY from 1990 to 2010.
The photo of me on the exercise bike (above) appeared with an article I wrote for QST in November 2003 on exercising while operating my station. During the summer, I'm more likely to be outside riding on a recumbent bicycle somewhere on the Island.
I achieved Top of the Honor Roll while operating as VE6PY. My current ham radio passion is working DX on 6 meters from VE3 land.
The current station:
K3, KPA500, KAT500, LP-PAN, AMD Athlon 6 core computer running NAP3 and HRD, 3 el SteppIR Yagi @ 65 feet, HF9v, Windom for 80 & 40
