FIRST LICENSED AS VE3HNP IN 1974 AT AGE 16, I WORKED CW FOR 20 YEARS USING RIGS BUILT FROM HEATHKITS. THEY INCLUDED THE DX-60B XMTR, SB-301 RCVR & HM-102 SWR METER. CHANGING CALLS TO VA3QSL IN 1995, I ALSO HOLD VA3YY WHICH I USE IN SOME CONTESTS. I ALSO ENJOY DXING, THE DIGITAL MODES, ACTIVATING ISLANDS AND LIGHTHOUSES AND OPERATING WHILE ON HOLIDAY IN G, F, I, SV, 4X, KP2,KP4,FS,PJ7,KH6,VK,W,8P6,ZB2BU, C6/MM, & PA/MM. On May 29, 1914 Canada's worst maritime disaster occured near Rimouski, Quebec when the Liverpool, England bound passenger liner 'Empress of Ireland was accidently hit on its starboard side in dense fog by a Norwegian collier.  Of the 1,477people aboard 1,012 perished in the turbulent waters of the St. Lawrence River.  The special prefix CF3 has been allocated by Industry Canada to commemorate this sad anniversary.  Look for CF3QSL until Nov. 30th, 2014. A special QSL will be created.

PJ7 Sint Maarten, Jeff VA3QSL will be active 'holiday style' as PJ7/homecall from Dutch St. Maarten (NA105 WLOTA 0711) Jan 10-13th, 2015. Activity will be on phone and cw 80-10 mtrs. QSL to homecall via bureau, direct (for usa/can $2US., for DX EU2. or 1IRC), or LOTW after return home.

There may also be activity from Guadeloupe (FG) on Jan 1 or Jan 2/2015. as FG/VA3QSL

NOTE: Cards sent direct without return postage funds will be sent via bureau!
