I will be operating on 6m & 10m CW/SSB as FJ/VA3RA from November 22, 2013 to November 25, 2013smiley

The TF/VE3IKV 6m DXpedition to Iceland in June 2012 in HP83 was great with many 6m QSOs to Europe, North America, Asia, & Africa.

If you would like a card, please QSL direct with 3 Green Stamps (international) or 2 Green Stamps (U.S.A./Canada) to the address above - thanks.  Also, as of May 2013, I am now acting as HF & 6m QSL manager for Mike, VE9AA (DIRECT only for VE9AA pse - same Green Stamps as above).

coolCQ WW DX CW Contest November 26/27 2011 (and the following week) look for me down in Anguilla on HF & 6m as VP2EAT. cool

UPDATE: Pete VE3IKV, Dick K5AND, and Chris W3CMP have returned from our DXpedition to CY0 Sable Island using the special event call CY0X on 6m, 2m, + HF between June 25th and July 12th, 2008. We put almost 4,000 QSOs in the 6m log and many thousands more in the HF log. See more info at the CY0X website at: http://www.cy0x.com ----------------------------------------------------------------- VF0X: Here is the link to the VF0X 6m + HF DXpedition to Zone 2 Nunavut Territory (VY0) from IOTA NA-196 in grid FO06 between June 29 and July 4, 2007 by Bill, W4TAA and I. This special event prefix/call commemorates the 100th anniversary of the crossing of arctic Canada's North-West Passage by Amundsen in 1907. http://www.solarcycle24.com/vf0x/ ------------------------- Thanks to all my friends on ten meters, I now have 226 DXCC worked from the mobile, all on 28MHz SSB/CW with only 50 watts. Best 28MHz mobile DX QSOs from VE3 were P29TL Papua New Guinea, VK6TQ via long path, UA0SJ in Bratsk, Siberia (near the Mongolian border), EM1HO & DP1POL in Antarctica, ZL7C, XT2ATI, A71MA, 9M6CT, and over 9,000 others! The transceiver is a Yaesu FT-77 mobile transceiver and the antenna is a Wilson 5000 monoband shunt-fed 57" (1.5 meter) mobile whip for 10 meters. I have also taken this rig and antenna on several 28MHz "mobile DXpeditions" - DL, F, HB9, I, OE, HA, OM, OK, & 3A all in 2001, and PJ6/VA3RA Saba, PJ7/VA3RA & FS/VA3RA in 2002 & 2003. 73, Pete ---------------------SIX METERS: In 2003, I have returned to 6m SSB & CW after a long hiatus, with a Yaesu FT-650. The antenna is a 71" (1.8 meter) 3/8 wave Diamond HF50CX 6m vertical mounted on the roof of the truck, cut to 50.1MHz. Since 2004, have worked 49 DXCC including F6FHP, CT1HZE, EA7KW, EH7RU, G3SED, OX3LX, CU2JT, and EH8BPX transatlantic via multi-hop sporadic-E, as well as CY9SS, FP/N6RA, J68AS, J3/K5AND, FM5JC, FG5FR, VP2E, YS1AG, FY1FL, V47KV, VP2MRT, V36M, 8R1DB, 5J0BV, LU5FF, CE2AWW, and CX8DS (9,000 km!) - all on 6m mobile from VE3. Good to see you on six from Zone 2 Labrador in July, 2005 operating as VD2X, and from the Magdalen Islands as VC2X (special call in July 2006 only). VA3RA is my contest and DXpedition call sign. Operating in 2003 as PJ6/VA3RA/mobile on Saba Nov 12-14, 2003 was great - it allowed me to change locations around the 2800 ft. volcanic island as propagation directions changed. Moving the car to the south side of the island allowed me to work LU7WW (FE77) - 6,783km and LU7YA (FF50) - 6,463km when 6 meters opened up to the deep south of Patagonia around 2200 UTC with 59+ signals both ways via TEP (Trans Equatorial Propagation). TEP was evident nightly on six with strong signals from LU, CE, & PY. More research needs to be done on this fascinating 6m propagation medium.
