Well It has been some time since I last decided to update my BIO here on QRZ.COM. Alot of changes have occurred in both my shack and my antenna farm as well. Rigs I no longer own are the Icom 706MKiiG, the 706 was sold and replaced with a Yaesu FT736R, I will be working hard to complete my new satellite setup in the year 2009, with hopes for making my first Satellite QSO by spring time.

You can generously donate to AMSAT for future satellite projects here

For HF I still have my trusted TS-850, which I use faithfully for all my RTTY Contesting, but I fear its day may soon come to and end, as I am on the hunt for a suitable replacement, I am having troubles making up my mind, whether it be the Yaesu FT-847 or the Yaesu FT-920, which ever rig I settle on, it will defiantley have 6M ops on.

I added a 2nd tower to my farm and it holds a home built 19 ele yagi for 70cm SSB, a 8 Ele for 2M SSB, and a modified long boom version of my cloned Cushcraft 5 ele yagi for 6M.

Future antenna work includes removing the R7 from the top of the 48 foot Delhi tower and finnaly getting the ATB-34 back into service. Then once that is done I will add a 3rd very short tower, which I plan to mount the R7 ontop of and possibly my satellite portion of my farm.

I enjoy RTTY Contesting, and have been doing quite well at getting many QSOs. Placing first for all VE3s SOAB-LP in the 2007 BARTG RTTY contest. I also have my eQSL WAS award to compliment the other awards from eQSL, I am also now active with LOTW and only require Wyoming for my WAS Basic and Wyoming for my WAS RTTY. I look forward to completing my triple play award on LOTW as well. So with all that said and done, Ilook forward to working you on the bands !!!

Until then 73 de VE3TES
