Born in 1942 and got interested in radio in the mid 50's, playing with old Broadcast and Shortwave radios. Introduced to ham radio by VE4SN in the late 50s, I finally got my license in 1961, and been active on HF since. Enjoyed many years on CW and now I spend most of my time on phone. My modest equipment setup is an Icom IC-746 with 100 watts, an inverted vee and vertical antennas.

I worked for the local telephone company (Manitoba Telephone System) in Winnipeg for 35 years, retiring in 1996, and became a Telephone Pioneer in 1981, Chapter 50. Now I have plenty of time to enjoy ham radio. One of my other hobbies is photography using transparency medium, finally upgrading to digital, this year (2012).

I do enjoy receiving QSL cards and I QSL 100 percent via buro or direct. No return postage is necessary. Sorry no E-QSL.

Hope to see you on the bands. 73 Boris
