I was orginally licenced back in 1977 as VE7CRW (Age 15) and my old call is now a repeater call in Kamloops BC.
I went to the University of Victoria and got my BSc in geography.
I joined the military (Army) in 1985 and operated VE8RCS and VE7CRW/VE8 in the late 1980's and in 1990.
After that I got married and other things took my time away from the hobby.
Retired from the military in 2007 (after 22 years) as a Captain, and got back into the hobby in 2010.
We moved to Saskatchewan in 2010 and we love it here, it is a great place to live and the people are fantastic.
The small town that I live in (Caronport) has a population of 1000-1500. It is located about 20 km west of Moose Jaw.
I got my VE5 callsign in 2010 and the KS stands for the names of my Daughters, Katrina and Sophie.
My XYL has been very supportive, and has allowed me to purchase a couple of radio's, tower and antenna's.
My primary set up is a Kenwood TS 140S, with a MFJ 297 microphone, and a LDG AT-100 ProII Autotuner.
I have a rigblaster Advantage and have started to do RTTY and PSK QSO's.
My antennas are a Crushcraft A3S up at 40 feet (aprox 13 metres) and a 40/80 metre fan inverted vee.
I love DXíng and contesting.
QSL 100%, direct (with SASE), LoTW, or buro
UPDATE: 24 Aug 2016.. I just got about 1000 QSL cards from the bureau, so it will take me a bit of time to work through them.
