I am an instrumentation mechanic that travels approx. 300 kms per day for work and do much of my hf mobile.In my Truck I run an Icom ic-7000 and a HI-Q 5/80 antenna, an Ameritron ALS500 amplifier also, and a Heil headset. At home, I now have up a 80foot trylon tower at home to accomidate my Icom 756PROII and HY-GAINTH7-DX,With the ALPASPID rotator. I now have my 3 element mono-bander for 17 meters. It is a 203BA that has been adjusted down to 17m So I guess I'll call it a 173BA.

I run an ameritron al82 easily which easily does 1.5kw. I run all my gear with solarpower with the exception of the amplifier which is 220volt. Hope to hear from you. Brent

 

 

The newest addition, I have recently accepted a working position approx. 370 kms north of my QTH. This is my commuter and my new mobile station which has the Kenwood TS-480 hx and the glorious 5" coil from HI-Q. motorized antenna.
