Click for more detail... I'm 46 years old and have been a ham since I was 15. I operate CW on HF almost exclusively. The reason for this is that when I started out in ham radio as a teenager, I Iived in a small apartment with thin walls. SSB disturbed the whole building and CW didn't. When I moved from the apartment I just stuck with CW. I'm on the DXCC Honor Roll, but still need Andaman, North Korea and Swain's Island. My present QTH is a city lot about 175 feet by 70 feet. I work as a civil litigation lawyer. Here's my present station: Yaesu FT-1000MP, Yaesu FL-7000 Solid State Amp (600 watts), Hy-gain TH6DX at 15 meters (10, 15 and 20), Cushcraft A3WS at 18 meters (12, 17 and 30), Alpha Delta Twin Slopers (40, 80 and 160) and a beverage for low band receive. The beverage is hidden in a long cedar hedge, about 1.5 meters off the ground. It doesn't work that great, but it's better than nothing. Back when I started out in ham radio I operated QRP. I still have my original Heathkit HW-8 that I built when I was 15. I also run an Elecraft K2 and an Icom IC-703, both QRP rigs. My QRP gear is all powered from a solar panel and battery. I have my logs going back to 1978. If you need a QSL, especially one for a special prefix, send me an email and I'll send you a card via the buro.
