Click for more detail... I had a lot of terrific years on the CB both legal and as a pirate and then I got caught by the Radio Inspectors for using an amateur radio modified to the 27MHz band.I then thought it was time to join the ranks of Amateur Radio.Australia introduced a novice limited (no morse required)level licence so I completed the theory and regs, passed it and was then allowed to use the 2m & 70cm bands which were not very interesting.Stuck with it until the Authorities dropped the morse which altered the licence system once again and this allowed me onto the some HF bands which was great. Finally the Foundation licence system was introduced and this allowed me access to all bands except the warc bands .Still only allowed to use 100 watts but that’s life,to old now to sit more exams. Enjoy the radio a lot including the pileups at contest time.Working hard to get all USA and Canada states,DXCC ,Iotas as well as all Aussie states on all the bands that I can use.
I operate a Icom IC-718 radio.Antennas are a TH3 tri bander for 10-15-20 meters.40m inverted v dipole and a 80m linear loaded dipole.
QSL INFO BUREAU = BUREAU DIRECT = DIRECT ( If you include 1 new IRC or $2 US + a postcard size envelope.) eQSL is ok but I still require a proper card eQSL cards are not valid for most awards including DXCC and IOTA
