Thanks for looking,I have been interested in radio communication since my teenage years and in the 90's i passed my Amateur license exams and Morse code

My Home QTH is approx 25 km S/W of Sydney in the Sutherland Shire . Close to national parks and great beaches.

I have to two children with my XYL Lisa to spend time with so I don't always have much time to rag chew in a busy life always working!!.

You can most often find me operating in 20m Band although I do get active on all HF bands .

I am now using pc logging software at my QTH and moving over some contacts from my paper logs..

But still using paper log when portable

My Station

Yaesu FT1000MP MK V with Heil HM-12

Kenwood TS-850s + D104 microphone and other various transceivers

Yaesu FL-2100Z Amp

Antennas

I do get portable from my country property from time to time using a 6 ele log antenna at 250 meters above sea level, I have a coax run to my 4wd its great fun , above picture is showing beaming S/P to EU, The log sits on a home made tower that can go to 40 feet high ,it has a great take off from the steep hill.

KT34 IS UP

I am currently working on my next project ,Which is to rebuild a KLM KT34a Yagi Antenna, So i hope to have it together and working correctly in the next few months.

Well the time has come, i have taken down my 10m mono bander and TH3, which also can do with some service work ,damm cockatoos keep chewing the trap caps,

Anyway after few months of rebuilding the KT34 and replacing some aluminum elements in the capacitor sections ,replacing end caps, making new T match and new crossover straps, rejigging the sizes to spec, refitting the pain in the backside shortening bars which where always moving on elements.

On the ground initial readings looked good , Today 29/6/14  its up on the tower, 20m looks good readings under 1.5.1 impedence  on the low side ,10m under 1.5.1 ,15m under 1.5.1 I will see how it goes with some on air reports.
