QSL: PO BOX 856 DICKSON ACT AUSTRALIA 2602

I am active on HF bands 80/40/20/15/10m and the VHF/UHF bands 2m and 70cm - although my main interest is in 10m SSB operation whilst the bands remain open.

Equipment:

  • IC-756 PRO III with SM20 desk microphone
  • IC-746 PRO
  • IC-910H
  • Codan 8528 HF transceiver / Codan 9350 Autotuner (mobile)
  • Alinco DR-635 (mobile)

Antennas:

  • 80m Dipole
  • 40m elevated full size 1/4 wave vertical
  • 2 element 40m linear loaded beam @ 15m high
  • 3 element 15m Yagi
  • 2 element 20m delta loop
  • 6 element 10m Yagi 6.5m boom gone to a new home
  • 6 element 10m yagi 11.5m boom @14m high
  • 6 element 6m yagi (currently up 8m high for testing)
  • 11 element 2m yagi @ 12.5m high

My latest 10m antenna (below) is 6 elements on an 11.5m long boom at 14m above ground. Still working out radiation patterns but very significant improvement overmy short boom 6 element yagi has been observed.

A happy looking VK2NSS after having completed maintenance on the short boom 6 element 10m now replaced with a 3 ele 15m yagi and 2m yagi.

Taking a motivational break on the son's 80cc bike whilst preparing a tower for the two element 20m delta loop.

After a lot of effort, the three stage tower was bolted to the slab with ropes as temporary guys and the 20m delta loop placed on top. Once permanent guy wires are in place (4 years later, still waiting), the tower will be cranked up putting the boom of the antenna at about 12m above ground (approximately 19m to the top of the elements).
