Hi my name is Ron and I live about 50 Km NorthWest of Melbourne in a small rural town called Riddells Creek. I live on a small farm which is happily lacking  man made QRM.

I first got involved with radio around the early 1960's , well  before my teens listening to the VK's on 40 meters AM and reading library books on radio. My first project was a crystal radio which worked first time.!!

After high school i ventured to Europe and was in the Dutch army in a signals battalion. I first became licensed in the Netherlands around 1975 and was very active on HF and VHF for several years both from my small Army flat as well as the large Army radio club at my barracks . On returning to Australia I was busy with raising my young family so radio took a back seat for many years.

I eventually sat for my license again and after having a novice license for a while upgraded to my current call around 1983??after sitting the CW exam.

I currently run both Yaesu and Icom equipment as well as an old restored Collins KWM2a and several HF and VHF amps. My antennas vary from a TH7dx on a small tower to wire antennas on the lower HF bands and WARC bands.

I like the odd rag chew with old friends I worked with in Europe who were ham operators in the 70's ...usually on 20 meters and I enjoy trying out new wire antennas as I have a few acres on 20-30 meter sky hooks ( Pine trees) on the farm. I'm not computer savy any more but my son is a corporate IT man and looks after my home and radio shack computer problems and upgrades when needed.

73's till i work you again de Ron.
