Bora da i Creoso - G'day and Welcome.

Solar panels finally fitted over the weekend 15/17th October whilst attending an International Covention in Melbourne. Attached picture shows Scooter in showroom awaiting collection.

Fabulous and the outcome currently has exceeded all expectations.  Have had some very pleasing results with estimated duration up to 60Km depending on stoppages, cloud conditions etc. Additional straps and brackets have been added, the extra weight accounting for a speed reduction of approx. 1Km/hour.  Further assessments to be done including devising a panel securing method [cable ties withour extreme UV days will reduce the 'life time' of those currently installed.

To operate my FT817ND system with the Buddipole antenna arrangements, a seperate gelcel and/or sealed leadacid battery system must be employed to operate the radio, CAT computer system, ATU etc.  Meantime, look for me QRP either on the 20m SSB or PSK31 modes or the 40m SSB bands.  Have a discone operational on 2m and 70cms too though this too is limited owing to constraints outside my control.  My website of  "www.jonboyradio.com" has since 06th AUGUST.2014 been under the control of  Stacpoole Internet.  Updates will be periodic.  Thanks to all those who supported the system especially the Radio Amateur Section and in particular thanks to the 425 DX Net system in being able to maintain a useful [according to some of my readers] service. Grazie Mario & 425 Team.  73 & BCNU de Jon (Ioan) VK4CY - updated 01NOVEMBER.2014
