Hello from LEWISTON in South Australia. I have been VK5PO since 1985. I was VK5NJF for a few years prior to that! (1982) I have been closely associated with HF radio for over 35 years now. OLD TIMER at 50!! CW, SSTV, RTTY, PSK31, VHF DX'ing (6m, THE MAGIC BAND) LOTS OF NEWER DIGI MODES!! and of course SSB!!!!!!! ________________________________________________________________________ Operated as VI9NI (2006)and VK9LA (2010) Past Vice President, and life member of the OCEANIA AMATEUR RADIO DX GROUP #164(ODXG inc). When I qsl direct, that is what I do, and it is reasonable to expect the same in return
_______________________________________________________ The VK5PO-L ECHOLINK NODE # 751157. FREQUENCY: 146.575 SIMPLEX 2X5/8th colinear vertical at 14 Metres
RIGS: YAESU FT200.my favourite "boat anchor" ICOM IC7700, IC756ProII, IC746PRO, IC7000 ,ICW2A,IC-T90, IC92AD D-Star, IC-F1010 2m, Motorola MCS 2000 KENWOOD TM-D700 APRS, Motorola XTS300 UHF H/Held, CODAN HF radios. I have several HF Linear AMPLIFIERS, of which are seldom used
________________________________________________________________________________________________ I have antennae for these bands: SEPT 2010: I have got my "dream" antenna up! full sized 1/4wave vertical resonant at 3.790Mhz,,,. It tunes on top band, and I was VERY HAPPY to work my first W station on 160. I currently run the IC746pro barefoot, so 100w only. Very impressed with the verticals' performance. Now 64 radials attached, enhancing the performance nicely on 75m! I will be constructing a L/C network to get it to load up on 160cw 160ph and 80m cw.
VK5PO station license has been endorsed with ONE KILOWATT RF output on the APPROVED bands
This is the 7element 6M yagi I built (9.1m boom) It is a YU7EF design BOY, what an antenna! I made my 1/4 wavelength sleeve balun using brass tubing that fitted snugly over the RG213 feedline. Easiest way to match any VHF/UHF yagi.
No towers are used to "hold" up any of my HF antennae. After lots of work, they are strung up between gum trees here. All WIRE antennae are made using 316 Stainless Steel "rope" they will last forever!:
160M 1/2wave Dipole 80m Full wavelength Horizontal LOOP 80m OCF DIPOLE (Windom) 40m Full wavelength vertical LOOP 30m Full wavelength Horizontal LOOP Elevated (4m) CAP-HAT (shortened) 75m Top loaded VERTICAL 75M 1/4 Wave ground mounted VERTICAL (DX Window)
____________ Work in Progress: Yagi on 40m ( I think I will build a HB9CV!) dipoles for some other bands. 40/30 etc. tribander yagi's (TH6DXX rebuild) yagis for 2m and 70cm I currently offer my station as a HF WINMOR gateway. Send and receive EMAIL from your mobile station. Please use only if mobile away from "normal" internet connections. Details by googling RMS WINMOR. _______________________________________________________________ Overseas Visiting Hams are welcome to stay for a few days!
