 Hello,   please browse and enjoy.

Home qth and the lush countryside of Tasmania. QTH is approx. 800 ft above sea level with a clear shot looking North across Bass Strait towards Australia.

                                                                          Looking North                                                                Short path Europe

Panorama looking towards South Africa and long path USA, in Winter the mountain in the distance quite often has a covering of snow.

This is my current quad antenna on an Australian made Nally free standing, crank up, tilt over tower. Home Station is a Yaesu FT-2000, Mic is a Heil Pro-Set Plus using HC-5 cartridge, a 4 element, 5 band cubical quad on a 30 ft boom at approximately 50ft, an Acom amplifier, a 30 mt dipole above the quad at 60ft, 160mt double bazooka, 80mt double bazooka and a 40mt double bazooka all in an inverted V configuration, an elevated vertical for 80 & 40 mts and the latest addition is a Gap Voyager for 40/80/160mt.

Mobile - Yaesu 857D, Hi Sierra 1800 Pro antenna for HF and a VK7JG Super Special for 2 mts

Main modes used are SSB, some digital(Bpsk31 & RTTY).

DIRECT as long as return postage included. PLEASE NOTE - no return postage or IRC provided with cards, then return qsl's will be returned via bureau when convenient.

EQSL is usually uploaded at once unless it is from a contest and then it is done at the completion of the contest.

LOTW is uploaded on a regular basis.

On line log book is now available at http://www.logbooks.hamradioaustralia.com/index_7ze.html  Please Note: This log is NOT updated daily. The latest entry in the on line log is shown at the top of the list.

Tnx John vk7xx for this addition.

If you require a fast response please do not send qsl's via bureau as it can take a long time to get here (years) and as I only reply to cards received, your wait could be a rather long one. If the Australian QSL bureaus change one day and become a single National body instead of State controlled for incoming cards this predicament may alter. Sorry for any inconvenience this may cause.

73, CU on a band somewhere.

This picture is Ulverstone and the mountain in the background is Mt Roland, small by world standards at 1233mts, nevertheless an impressive piece of rock. Sometimes in winter this mountain can have a covering of snow. Our qth is approximately a third of the way between Uverstone and Mt Roland.

Photos of Laurie riding two of his cutting horses - due to the wet winters  this sport is only a summer time activity in Tasmania.

Don't know what cutting is! Do a search on YouTube.com for NCHA or just click the link below..
