DX Desk has approved VK9LL for DXCC.

LotW application has been lodged in September 2013 and approved in December 2013 (!!). Sorry that it has taken so long to wait for VK9LL Lotw confirmation, I dont understand why the delay.

If you have not seen your Lotw confirmation by now, this is clearly a sign that your call is either broken or not in the log - please contact me.

Luis, IV3PRK has done a sterling job at analysing VK9LL propagation and QSOs on 160m band. Please see here:

http://www.iv3prk.it/vk9ll---2013.htm

You can also read the expedition story here (big thanks to Luis for hosting the file on his website):

The main focus was on the 160m. Sorry but no SSB this time, I had to cut off the handle of the toothbrush to squeeze into the 14kg airline allowance, and Microphone was not on my priority list.

Operating effort depended on many factors, lets just say it was a holiday style operation..

The following setup was used:

TX: Inv L vertical, with LC trap for 80m, initially 4 evelated radials with detune interlock, QRO PA. (I had an option of 52 ground radials prepared, however 4 elevated radials worked just fine, later I have added another 14 elevated radials). The radials were installed 3-5 m AGL. The vertical section of the Inv L used 18m Spidermast.

RX: K3, also KX3 used under less busy band condx, Delta Flag constructed to N4IS recommendations with CAT-5 feedline, 2 x BOGs, W7IUV Preamp, home made noise canceller/ preamp/antenna switcher unit.

Cu on the air from another one.
