VK9XM:

VK9XM was activated by Pekka, OH1TV and Pekka, OH2YY on Oct. 6-12, 2012. The activity covered bands 7 to 50 MHz, both SSB and CW. The equipment included two K3's, 2-el yagis for 18 and 24MHz, a 2-el tribander for 14, 21 and 28MHz, a 3-el yagi for 50MHz and a 1/4 vertical for 7MHz. The propagation favored 18 to 28 MHz, but the 2-3 last days were fairly good also for 14MHz and 7 MHz. 50MHz was well open to Asia and Pacific. Last year VK9XM was activated by Pekka, OH2YY on Nov. 10-11, 2011. Compared to the original plan, the trip was cut short because of rescheduling of flights due to bad weather.
