Click for more detail... 20 July 2009 This is Larry I have been on Diego Garcia since Dec 2002 and have many stations in my log from around the world. Most of my contacts are on CW and RTTY. I gave up[on SSB about 2 years ago due to a lot of bad operators in the pileups. Some of the QRZ.COM forms and blogs around the internet have the same trash on them. Let me get to the point my Elecraft K2 has been wired up with a Pro Headset HC4 mic combo. I will try and start making a few SSB QSO's in the future 1 to 2 times a week. Most of my activity will still be on CW and RTTY. Bands of Choice: 160/80/30/17/12/6mtrs. (CW only on the 160Mtr band) ATTETION: I will no longer acept the the current IRC after 30 Sep 2009 for return postage. The current IRC'S will expire Dec this year. After 30 Sep 2009 only the Brand new IRC's will be accept for return postage. QSL Policy: 1. Direct QSL Cards with correct Retrun Postage/IRC'S/Greenstamps = Direct Return 2. Direct QSL Cards without Return Postage Will be sent back by the Buro. If you are not a member of a Buro this is not my problem. Examples: Post Card QSL Cards sent as a post card = Via Buro Direct QSL cards without correct IRC/Greenstamps/Or Retrun postage= Via Buro Direct Cards in the envelope with only the QSL= Via Buro All Direct cards received without return postage are logged in my Log as (NRP) no return postage. And then placed in the Buro Stack to go out at a latter date via Buro 1 time a year. Please enclose a Return Envelope with a neat return address with your QSL card. Cards without envelopes are always the last ones I do. For Info on IRC's check this URL http://www.para.org.ph/IRC IRC's are fine with me as long as they are a current and valid IRC. US stations treat the FPO address as a stateside address it requires a .44 cent stamp to mail a QSL card from the states to my FPO address. Stations outside the USA will require a Valid IRC or 2GS for return postage. EURO and YEN is also fine. I make trips to Europe, Japan, Singapore, USA, and the Philippines. Euro, American Dollars, and Yen are fine with me. N0QM/WD0HSP callsigns are not and have never been my QSL managers. They are only my new and old stateside calls. There has been many problems when a SSB EU DX station posted my stateside call as my QSL manager on the packet cluster 6 years ago That was bogus information, packet clusters and the speed of the internet have caused many problems with bad information being passed around the internet. If you choose to send QSL cards VIA N0QM or WD0HSP the cards will set in the states until I travel back. So if you choose to send via N0QM or WD0HSP you may be in for a long long wait maybe by the time I see your card the postage rate has already changed. (The correct QSL address for VQ9LA is VIA VQ9LA Address on the QRZ.COM website under the call VQ9LA) Support is always welcome many thanks for the Lowband Antenna support from: K9AY W8JI W4ZV Also many TNX's from all the kind Hams around the world who have worked me and passed so many nice words and gifts from around the world. I never have time to answer all the comments on the back of some QSL cards due to the bulk that I receive. At this time I would like to say Thank You ,Merci,Salamat, Domo arigato, Danke, Gracias, Grazie, Takk, Dakujem, Komapsumnida, Spasibo, Xie xie cheers to everyone. 73 Larry VQ9LA Last modified: Sun Jul 19 17:20:03 2009 Does this page contain inappropriate content?
