I have been operating Ham Radio since 1974. I am especially fond of DXing as well as local ragchew. I like homebrewing and some of the equipment in my shack are homebrewed. I mainly operate 20,15,17,12 and 10 meter bands on CW,SSB and digital modes. I have been QRV using my homebrewed multiband HF equipment and accessories and also Kenwood TS 830S, Icom IC 718 and IC 710M. I also operate 2 meter both with a homebrewed and an Icom IC T22A and Radioshack HTX 245. For the HF bands I use 85 watts of output. The photo shows on the upper shelf the IC 718 rig with an Autotuner unit model Z-100Plus on top.On the left hand side of the rig IC 718 in the picture is a Noise Cancelling unit model MFJ-1026.On the right hand side of the rig IC 718, I have placed a homebrewed 50 ohms, 100 watts Dummy Loadand further right is my homebrewed 2 meter rig. On the lower shelf, one can see my TS 830S with ATU AT230. My main antenna for HF is a homebrew Carolina Windom. This antenna is fed by a coaxial feeder and is being used for multiband operation. However, I keep changing my HF antennas frequently. I have a separate noise antenna for using with the Noise Cancelling unit. I have a dual band GP antenna for 2 meter and 70 cm operation. I have my computer on a separate table in the shack which I use for INTERNET surfing and PSK and RTTY activities on HF. Professionally, I am an Electrical Telecom Engineer and was working for an electic power transmission/telecom company. I am 62 years old and have two children. The first picture below shows my current shack and the bottom one shows my shack during 90s with all homebrew equipment like a 5-band SSB/CW transceiver, a 2 meter transceiver an antenna tuning unit etc. Lately I have added a homemade NorCal 20 QRP rig also to my shack and enjoying QRP CW.
