 I was active on all bands with special importance to low bands.

Hi Hams My name is Pai, and I have been active on the h.f bands sine May 1995 and love every bit about amateur radio,

specially CQWW SSB AND CW contest is my all time favorite.

I am active on all the bands from 160-thru 6 meters on SSB,CW,RTTY,PACTOR,AMTOR and shortly also on SSTV.

 I have been active with callsigns vu2pai/c,at2pai,at0pai,vu2pai/50,at4hqc,w1/vu2pai,

w6/vu2pai,dl/vu2pai,hb0/vu2pai

Operated as w5/vu2pai from dallas, tx from the shack of WX0B,

and as w4/vu2pai from the shack of w4vku in Raleigh,North Carolina in May-june 2008.

I am 35 years old and my other hobbies include travelling, stamp collecting(philately) mint ,used, First day covers,and pre stamp covers,queen victoria, u.s.a,tonga,scouting,christmas,stamps on envelopes, I will be happy to send any Indian stamps if anybody is interested!let me know)

I also enjoy meeting hams for eye ball qso's and also into computers.

I am also a big fan of Pink Floyd,jeth ro tull,rasmus,Rush,Eagles,The Who,Bob Sinclair,Dire Straits,Eagles,Brian Adamn,Alan Parsons Project,Uriah heep,Beatles,Don Henly,Grateful Dead ,zz top,Robbie Williams,Oasis,Tom Petty,Led Zepplin,bon jovi,linkin park and other bands and I enjoy music a lot hi!

My new passion these days is Golf and if u dont hear me often on the air its because i am doing some putting or driving practice!

We have a new golf course that has started in my home town.There are some lovely golf courses around in South India let me know if you want any info on them.

I am a die hard dx-erand have worked about 310 dxcc countries so far,the happiest moment in my 5 years of dxing was making the first qso from VU7LD/VU2PAI on 80 meters cw!and the year 2000-2001 is the first time i have been active on 160 meters.Also happy today ie:16th JAN 2003 as i just got my P5/4L4FN qsl! in the mail :-)

I am a member of Mangalore Amateur Radio Club (MARC), and our club is a very active club and we meet every month on the second sunday

(visiting Hams/Swl's are welcome to join us).

I have also been on the Governing council of the ARS

I(Amateur Radio Society of India) which is affiliated to the IARU.

We from the "VUIOTA" group have activated the IOTA group ( http://www.geocities.com/emailsrikanth/ham/iota/index.html )

AS-96 in May 2001 and a brand new island the Sacrifice Rock AS-161 in January 2002 which is a part of the Kerala State group

.Just activated IOTA AS169 Arnala island off the coast of Mumbai.

 I am also a part of the team logging over 3000 qso's myself from the 2 islands :-).

We have also conducted several field day's in the last couple of years.

 I try to qsl 100% , but sometimes my backlog plies up quite a bit if i have to leave the country for a couple of months!.

Kindly bear with me if there is any delay in replying to your qsl requests.Also kindly note mail is sometimes lost with green stamps in it specially from Japan and Italy,.

so stations from these places better send only IRC's when sending cards via direct to VU. If sending green stamps to VU please do so via registered air mail only.

2009 June was the first time i visited Friedrichshafen HAM RADIO convention in Germany and i really enjoyed it a lot.

I also got my German guest lcence at the convention! It was really nice to travel around the area with Hans DF5UG and Bernard DL2GAC.

Special thanks to Freddy HB0BB who let me operate his station as HB0/VU2PAI from Vaduz in Liechenstien. The year 2008 was my first visit to Dayton hamfest  and truly enjoyed it. Will surely visit again

 I do travel a lot(visited U.S,U.K,Singaore,Australia,Thailand,Switzerland,Hong Kong etc so far)and would like to meet fellow hams on my trips abroad .

I normally travel often to London(England),New York,Chicago,Dallas and would be delighted to meet hams there or attend club meetings,please send me an e-mail with your contact details and i will get in touch.

SM0JHF Henrik and Andy G4ojh whose qth i visited in the U.K. Just got visited by Thomas OZ1AA from Copenhagen ,Denmark (December 2008) who spent some time in my house and had a nice eye ball.

Had a nice visit with Mike OK7MT from the Czech Republic August 29th 2009. Have visited A61 and had the chance to visit the dream station of A61AJ! met A61AM and A61AP during that trip in 2002.

I was indeed happy to meet the folks at ARRL,Newington CT when I visted them in 1999.I got a chance to meet K1ZZ the then president of the league. I also me Dave,NT1N the famous dx expeditioner and the Dxcc man himself! NC1L,Bill.
