My primary  rig was a Kenwood TS 450 S, just sold it 7-18-09. Backup rig is a Kenwood TS 520. Purchased a new Icom IC7200, 7-31-09, to replace the Kenwood TS 450. I also have several 2 meter and 70cm modile rigs and several handi-talkies.

Antennas are

1. 40 meter dipole at about 35 feet.

2. Cushcraft R5 verticle with the base about 8 feet above ground.

4. An end fed random wire about 90 feet long which I can tune on any band and works as well as any of the other antennas.

5. Cushcraft Ringo Ranger for 2 meter

I am a member of the Johnson County Radio Amateur Club and a control operator for the clubs 145.29 repeater.

I enjoy both SSB and CW but my true love is CW. I am hoping to get on PSK31 and possibly other digital modes in the near future, the new IC7200 should make this easy since it has a USB port on the back panel.  I am active with Field Day planning and operation.

I like to go out and set up my HF rig for portable operation which makes the IC 7200 ideal. For portable operation I normally use an end fed random length wire because of the easy set up with only one support and no feed line. With a simple L network tuner it works well on all bands.

I also enjoy fox hunts using non high tech equipment such as short antennas, attenuators and talkies.

My old call was WB0NVO (Not Vary Organized) New phonetics are (Does Everything Wrong) actually my initials.
