Current 2015 station. A Yaesu FT-5000 has taken over for HF duty.
HF antennas are a 92 foot dipole fed with ladder line and a ground mounted vertical.
For 6 meters an M2 6M5X and for 2 meters a 2M12.
First licensed in 1992 as N0TQB. I was active on 2 meter SSB. At the time my station was an Icom 271A and a RF Concepts amplifier running through a Cushcraft 13B2.
2000 - After several years off, back on the air and added an Alinco DX-70TH for 6 meters. Antenna was a Cushcraft A50-3S
2009 - After being mostly in-active since 2001, I upgraded to General and changed my call to W0KAN. There was a new radio to go with the new call - a Yaesu FT-950
Dayton 2009 - While attending the Dayton Hamvention I took advantage of the exam sessions offered by the Dayton Amateur Radio Association and upgraded to Extra.
Early 2010 station. Yaesu FT-950 for HF and an Icom IC-910 for VHF.
The Kenwood TS-2000 was only on the desk for a brief time before I traded it off.
Early 2011 station. The TS-2000 was gone and had been replaced with an Icom IC-756 Pro 2. For 2 meter I added an Icom IC-275
Summer 2012. The FT-950 is traded away and now the main HF radio is a Flex 5000. The Flex is a fantastic radio.
