It's hard to believe, as I only feel 26 years old, but this is my fifty-first year as a ham! I was licensed first as WN2KQI when I was 13 (you do the math) and then became WB2KQI for about 47 years. When the vanity call of W2NLS came up with my initials I decided to go for it. But somedays, still, I actually will give the wrong call! I recently upgraded at long last to Extra as, being retired, I now had time to study. It was a real kick to finally get the top ticket. Ham Radio really shaped my life. I spent many years as an editor working on magazines having to do with electronics. I first was on Elementary Electronics Magazine and then I joined Popular Mechanics as the Electronics Editor. I was with PM for more than a decade and did more than one article on ham radio. I also got very involved with computing and ran all of the Apple Computer groups on CompuServe for 20+ years. Anyway, if you hear me on, give me a call.
