I was first licensed in 1961. My call as a novice was wv2wiu. After one year I achieved WAS, WAC and qso'D 100 dx stations. I still remember my first dx qso. I made a trip into New York City and took the General class license test and passed. My call was then wa2wiu. After chasing the DXCC award I went QRT, until the early 1970's. I again made the trip into New York City to the FCC office, and passed the Advanced test and then the Extra class license. I changed my call to KW2P,in the early 1990's. I had an interest in going on a dx-pedition. My first trip was an IOTA to the Dry Tortugas south of Key West. In 1992 I went to Navassa Island (KP1), I also spent time operating in Jamaica (6Y5). In 1993 I went to Desecho Island (KP5). Our group was the last party to ever operate from both of these islands. I also spent time operating from Puerto Rico (KP4). In late 1995 I went to St.Paul Island (CY9), in late 1999 I had the chance to operate from Iceland (TF). I am now retired and spend 6 months in the Florida Keys during the winter giving out IOTA NA-062. my address in the florida keys is 317 toll gate shore dr.islamorada fla,33036 So if you worked me from these many locations thank you for the qso.
