Thanks for the QSO. My QTH is 22 miles north of downtown Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, my home town. I have been a licensed ham since 1980.My call sign originated in 1939 and belonged to my grandfather who was a ham for 50+ years and was my elmer. The rig is a FT2000D. Other Rigs are Yaesu FT-950, Icom7000 and an old FT840.The antennas are R5 vertical, a 3 element tri bander at 55 feet atop a Rohn tower and a 520 foot wire loop for 160m. Also in the shack is a 811H and an ALS600 amplifier along with a Nye Viking MBVA and LDG Pro tuner. I work both CW and Phone. My keyer is a Begali Signature.I run a mobile HF station using a Kenwood TS 480 SAT and various ham sticks.
My shack is a stand alone building out back of the house and is my space, the man cave. There is heat, AC, TV, stocked fridge, recliner , couch, and of course, radios. I spend a lot of time in there, sometimes too much according to the XYL.
I enjoy working DX and currently have DXCC on 6 bands and continue to work on the others. Lots of fun!
I am a 1986 graduate of West Virginia University with a degree in Geology. However, coming from four generations of plumbers, I followed in the foot steps and became a licensed master plumber and own a mechanical contracting company in Pittsburgh. I have been involved in the plumbing and mechanical business for 25 years.
If You need my QSL Card just send an SAE, no funds needed, and I will return all QSL's promptly. I prefer LOTW but will answer any QSL's received via the bureau.
All the best to you and yours and I hope to hear you on the air soon. Best 73, W3ENM, BRAD
