An amateur radio operator since 1975, Tim Richardson holds the callsign W4IOU. He previously held the call signs WN4HZT and WB4HZT. His XYL Marty is N4HVN. He is a Life Member of the ARRL and a member of the Kennehoochee Amateur Radio Club.

Actively involved as a computer hobbyist, Richardson maintains his own web site. Other leisure time pursuits include photography, geneology, curio and relic firearms, gardening, bicycling and local history. He is also a Cobb County, GA CERT team member and served in the Georgia State Defense Force.

Professionally, Richardson has been employed as a Sr. Customer Service Engineer for Bell & Howell since 1982 installing and maintaining mail inserting and sorting systems. Also an elected official, he has served on the city council for Acworth, GA since 1998 and authored a provision in the city zoning ordinance that requires homeowner's associations to reasonably accomodate amateur radio antennas.
