Well during Field Day 2004 we attempted to put together a decent VHF/UHF station running 6 Meters, 2 Meters, 1.25 Meters, 70CM and 23CM all of which were hoisted via a boom lift, 20 foot of Rohn 25G and 20 foot of Chain Link Fence Pipe used as a mast. All of this was turned with the moderate Yaesu 450 Rotor. (Too flimsy for long-term use).

All in all this was a very successful event as I am a VHF/UHF contester and I love to come out and listen to the HF crowd tell me how it is fruitless to attempt VHF/UHF during Field Day. Well when we were finished the count was 274 contacts, not so bad for a VHF/UHF Field Day effort.

You can find me on VHF and higher and rarely on the HF bands in FM18HK 30 miles due South of Washington D.C. in a dismal little hole 67ft ASL in Stafford Virginia.

While in the office you will find me at Ham Radio Outlet in the Virginia Store as the Store Manager and National Sales Manager for the entire chain.
